Our Central New Mexico Local Section is hosting the 2018 ACS Rocky Mountain Regional Meeting in Albuquerque on Friday, October 26 at the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport, 2910 Yale Blvd SE. This will be a one-day ACS Regional Meeting with a focus of providing a venue for the students of our Region to make oral and poster presentations of their research accomplishments. Our meeting will feature three parallel oral sessions in the morning and afternoon with an evening poster session and reception. The Lobo (UNM) Chemistry Club is organizing a contest for poster session attendees with prizes to be awarded.
During the evening poster session and reception, ACS Board member Kathleen Schulz will meet informally to discuss and/or answer questions about ACS membership, its benefits, and any other topics attendees wish.

The deadline for early registration rates is Sunday, October 7, 2018. After that attendees can still register online through Friday, October 19, 2018 but only at the higher late registration rates. Beyond October 19, 2018 registration will only be possible on the day of the meeting, also at the higher late registration rates. All oral and poster presenters as well as all other attendees are expected to register for the meeting!

For our attendees who would like to spend the night of Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport, they are offering our ACS RMRM 2018 attendees a nightly rate of $94 + tax - only through October 8, 2018. Having a number of sleeping rooms booked at that rate helps us satisfy our contract with the Sheraton. If that rate is an impediment for any of our attendees wishing to spend that night in Albuquerque to book their room at the Sheraton please contact our meeting General Chair to discuss. Our 2018 ACS RMRM is scheduled to precede the 2018 New Mexico Academy of Science Research Symposium that will take place on Saturday, October 27 - also at the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport. The 2018 NMAS Research Symposium is co-organized by New Mexico EPSCoR (https://www.nmepscor.org/) and will include a number of chemistry related symposia focused on the NM EPSCoR science components. The 2018 NMAS Research Symposium will have separate abstract submission and registration web sites.
