Largest chemistry programs?

Hello CINFers!
Quick question: Does anyone know if there is an existing list of the LARGEST chemistry graduate programs in the US? Not necessarily the highest ranking but the ones with the most bodies in their graduate programs?

Any assistance would so appreciated!

Hope everyone is well.

Best,

Sara

Re: Largest chemistry programs?

(Curious that this is the only way to respond to this note. I thought it should be possible via the ACS network.)

Annually a report appears in C&EN on the number of chemistry degrees granted by school: undergrad (accredited and not) and grad. As I recall, the top degree granting institutions are shown in tables so you don't have to scan the entire list.

Re: Largest chemistry programs?

Off topic - but important so we all get comfortable communicating via the ACS Network:

there are two ways you can reply to a posted message.  You can reply to the message inside the ACS Network by hitting reply.  Or you can respond to the email, and your response gets posted to the thread.

Re: Largest chemistry programs?

Hi Sarah,

FYI, a statistical summary on the size of chemistry  programs is available in the print copy of the ACS Directory of Graduate  Research. It would be great to have this info added to the online  version (http://dgr.rints.com/)

.

The new NRC report on PhD programs includes a lot statistical info that might be of interest. See:

Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs

Cheers!
