Applications are still being accepted for the Teva USA Scholars Grants

After its inaugural year in 2009, Teva USA Scholars Grants are again being offered via the ACS Office of Research Grants.  The program will award three grants in the area of organic chemistry, each consisting of $100,000 per year for three years, to three faculty members in Ph.D.-granting departments at institutions in the U.S.  Recipients must have earned tenure within four years of the date of receipt of their applications.  Successful results of the work supported by Teva USA Scholars Grants would be of potential practical benefit to the discovery of organic compounds useful for human medicines.  The deadline for submission is December 2, 2011 and the application can be found at www.acs.org/teva. Recipients of the inaugural award are Dr. Brian Stoltz, California Institute of Technology, Dr. Xin Guo, University of the Pacific, and Dr. Alexander Deiters, North Carolina State University.  In an award symposium scheduled for the Fall 2012 ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia, these three principal investigators will be presenting their research, which was supported by this grant program.
