The ACS student chapters at the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) and the University of Central Florida (UCF) would like to announce a student-organized seminar on Thursday, November 5th at 5PM (announcement attached). This week, we will welcome Dr. Jason Benedict, University of Buffalo, to discuss his research on functional crystals. This seminar series was developed with the goal of bringing quality chemistry seminars to undergraduate students throughout Central Florida in order to increase student’s exposure to cutting-edge research in chemistry, thus increasing interest in the field. In addition to the seminar, students will get the opportunity to have an open discussion with the Dr. Benedict prior to the seminar, where they can pose questions on various topics from graduate school, careers in academia and any related topic; please contact Chris Chouinard (cchouinard@fit.edu) for more information on the student segment which will be held at 4PM.
