Anyone in law enforcement related chemistry?

Hello all!

Anyone  here in the law enforcement field?

I am a Los Angeles Police Department Hazardous Materials Unit (LAPD HazMat) Specialist Reserve Officer and love my volunteer work. I get called out for the most bizarre calls! I'd like to share my experiences and expertise with others. You can check out my website: www.AlchemEDU.org for the many things I do.

Cheers!

Re: Anyone in law enforcement related chemistry?

Hi Everyone

I work at the Alabama Department of Forensic Science and am trying to get some ideas on a good source of forensic articles. Any Ideas?

Antoinette,

Thermo-Fisher and Forensics Source (Jacksonville, FL) both have educational kits containing forensic articles.  Those would be a good place to start, unless you're asking about magazine journal articles on Forensics.  For written articles, try the Journal of Forensic Sciences a peer-reviewed journal from the AAFS, or Forensic Magazine.

I hope this helps!

Re: Anyone in law enforcement related chemistry?

Hi Raychelle,

Cool! Thanks for joining my network. I think it would be good for folks like us to work together and help each other out as much as possible. Please see what all I do at my website (www.AlchemEDU.org) and contact me if you eve need any help. May I contact you if needed? Any particular field you specialize in? I know of someone who is a ballistics specialist and a few other who are not part of this network (yet I hope). Best of luck in all your work!

Cheers!
