The ACS Councilors group was established by the Council Policy Committee to provide Councilors and Alternate Councilors an opportunity to engage in discussions, share experiences, get advice, and form connections. It offers a platform to inform our new Councilors and Alternate Councilors about the ACS and its governance, as well as allowing them to participate in debates and share information. The Councilor Group site hosts a collection of reference materials for your use, including resource information to help you prepare for national meetings, Talking Points from the Council meetings, the Councilor News & Committee Alerts, the ACS Handbook for Councilors, and active discussions relating to the Council’s Special Discussion topics.

SOCED/CHED joint task force developed 'to specify a process for the creation of performance expectations in general chemistry by Spring 2016'.

This is a closed group for members of the ACS Committee on Patents and Related Matters

The Task Force shall look broadly at the issues related to employment of chemistry professionals within the U.S. In addition to aggregate data, the Task Force shall also examine the plight of demographic subgroups, people at different education and experience levels, and different sectors of employment. Examination of employment challenges in the U.S. should reflect all chemical professionals, not just ACS members. Recommendations and insights gained by the Task Force shall be submitted to appropriate governance entities as they become available. The Task Force should not wait until a formal report has been issued to act. The Task Force shall provide a written report to the President and Board of Directors of the ACS summarizing all findings, recommendations, and actions. The report shall ultimately be disseminated more broadly, in some form, to industry, government agencies, foundations, and universities.
