Thanks to everyone who listened in to our webinar today! We had too many questions to answer in the allotted time, so I'm answering some of them here on the forum. Feel free to chime in if you have your own questions or answers!
The webinar recording will be posted shortly for everyone to view.
For a company who has NO idea how they can help the green chemistry society...is there a place where we can get education on how can we implement green chemistry?
Yes, the GC3 has just today launched a safer chemistry training curriculum for businesses. If you have no idea where to begin, I suggest starting with the first video for an introduction to the concept of green chemistry, and then moving on to one of the more in-depth videos about policy, the business value of green chemistry, or incentivizing merchants to purchase sustainable products.
If you have something specific you'd like to ask, feel free to start a discussion here on the forum and we will answer your questions!
On the job board: what if someone is posting something not related to green chemistry? What if I am posting a job for the chemists' world, but not necessarily for green chemistry?
I'm a researcher in a university and developing a new technology and want to find out who in industry might be interested in it. What's the best way to find out?
It depends on the technology, but the Innovation Map might be a good place to start. For example, if you're working on sustainable polymers, you could look at companies who are supporters of the Center for Sustainable Polymers and get an idea of who is already supporting research in that area, then see if those companies have grants or partnership efforts. You can also ask here in the forum about the general type of technology you're developing, and the GC3 and GCI moderators will do our best to direct the appropriate experts your way.
There's no specific category for that on the forum yet, but recycling chemicals could definitely be considered part of green chemistry. Feel free to post content related to this in the General category, or if you have a lot of thoughts on the subject let us know and we can create a specific category.
The Job Board in the Green Chemistry Innovation Forum is focused around jobs that are related to green chemistry in some way, but that doesn't always mean that the title is "green chemist". For example, chemists who work in the regulatory compliance department can implement green chemistry in their jobs by replacing hazardous chemicals with safer ones. If you feel that the job could relate to green chemistry, please post it on our Job Board! If it's completely unrelated, you might reach a more appropriate audience by posting elsewhere in the ACS Network.
