The ACS Hawaii Local Section has operated continuously since its chartering in 1922. The Hawaii Local Section hosts the International Chemical Congress of Pacific Basin Societies (PACIFICHEM), held in Honolulu every five years, most recently in December 2015. This event has become one of the largest and most prestigious of international scientific meetings.
