NIBR Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowships

Would you like to contribute to innovative research with the goal of improving human health? Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research has a variety of postdoctoral positions in biology, chemistry and computational sciences that provide excellent training in research and exposure to science in a pharmaceutical setting.

The NIBR Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowships provide scientists with a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary basic research in an industry setting. Presidential Fellows have a NIBR mentor and an academic mentor, and develop their projects in consultation with both mentors. PhD students in the last year of their doctoral research, as well as postdoctoral fellows with fewer than two years of research experience past their PhD, are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Fellowships are for a three-year term and may be extended up to 4 years.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Department East Hanover, NJ

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our highly dynamic group in the DMPK Department. The successful candidate is expected to take on research projects to assess the impact of transport protein expression levels within tissues on the transport involved drug clearance and drug-drug interactions in the clinic. This work is of particular significance to drug development project teams and is expected to produce high-quality, peer-reviewed publications. Through the direction of a scientific mentor the Postdoctoral Fellow will work independently to drive project deliverables and foster related cross-functional collaborations within DMPK. This will provide the candidate an opportunity to gain a broader perspective on the drug development process.

The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Proteomics, Biochemistry, Bioanalytical chemistry or a related field and have been trained in quantitative protein analysis using modern technologies, such as LCMS. Previous experience in characterization of membrane proteins and cell culture is a plus. The successful candidate is expected to have strong oral and written communication skills in English.
