Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry position for 2020-2021

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Mary Washington invites applications for a one-year term position to begin August 2020. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry or a closely related specialty and be able to teach Organic and General Chemistry. Ideal candidates will have a passion for chemical education and prior teaching experience. The department recently moved into newly renovated lab and teaching facilities in the Jepson Science Center and is well-equipped to support its teaching and research missions. UMW is a public liberal arts and sciences university dedicated to effective teaching and the integration of undergraduate students in research. Recently recognized as a “Great College to Work For” by the Chronicle of Higher Education, UMW is centrally located between Washington, DC and Richmond, VA, in close proximity to many government labs and private engineering firms offering opportunities for collaborative research and student internship opportunities.
