GC&E Poster celebrates the late George Ruger's Green Chemistry contributions

With great sadness, we report that George Ruger passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at home. George joined American Chemical Society (ACS) in 2008 and was an active society volunteer and unit officer, including Chair of Division of Small Chemical Businesses (SCHB), Chair of Lehigh Valley Local
Section, Councilor for Mid Hudson Local Section, Member of Committee on Economic and Professional Affairs (CEPA), and Member of Committee on Community Activities (CCA). George regularly attended and presented at ACS national, regional, and specialty conferences, including many Green Chemistry
& Engineering Conferences. George founded Palladium Science Academy and was first in line to volunteer for outreach student activities, including Earth Day, National Chemistry Week, Cape Cod Science Cafe, STEM Journey, Cape & Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s Wicked Cool Autumn Welcome.
George is survived by his wife Kelly Herrell , his mother Annette Laskowsky , as well as numerous siblings, step siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
