Help us explain the science involved:
- the meaning of chemical kinetics/reaction rates by analogy with macroscopic collisions.
- examples of important catalysts such as enzymes and industrial catalysts.
Offer hands-on demonstrations of the effect of temperature on rate with ‘Pop Rocks’ and light sticks; the effect on apple browning rate of additives (vinegar, lemon juice, salt, sugar, …).
Play the Great Reaction Race Game with us and enjoy displays illustrating the importance of catalytic chemistry on our daily lives…maybe even experience some ‘inflationary’ air bag chemistry!
