Sign Language in STEM (flyer).png“Sign Language in STEM”

Speakers: Cedar Crest College CCC Signs ASL Club

Thursday, March 18th / 7:00 pm

Online Zoom Meeting Link

Join Cedar Crest College’s Signs Club for an overview of American Sign Language (ASL) alphabet and numbers, as well as explore general words related to STEM. ASL is a visual language. With signing, the brain processes linguistic information through the eyes, and facial expressions and body movements play an important part in conveying information.  We hope you will bring words or phrases you would like to learn and use.

Schedule:
7:00-7:10 - Introductions & discussion on the culture of the deaf and hard of hearing/recent impacts on the community due to COVID 19
7:10-7:45 - ASL alphabet/numbers/phrases
7:45-8:00 - wrap up & questions

8:00-8:30 Section Business Meeting

CCC Signs ASL Club is Cedar Crest College's very own American Sign Language club. Members join both to explore ASL and to learn about the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community and what they can do to help!
