2021-2022 Nashville ACS Student Travel Grants

The Nashville Section of the ACS is starting a new program to help fund student travel to ACS National Meetings, SERMACS, and other ACS-affiliated or chemistry-related conferences. Apply today! (Fall 2021 ACS applications will be accepted after start of meeting given late notice!) See eligibility details and application link below:

Eligibility

Students  are eligible for up to a $250 grant if they meet the following criteria: 

  1. Student Member is a student of a program within the Nashville Local Section. Students may include associate, bachelors, or graduate-level study.
  2. Must have  an up-to-date ACS Membership and provide membership number prior to disbursement of funds.
  3. For in-person meeting: Participation at the meeting, may include presenting a poster, oral presentation, or other official activities. Priority will be given to students giving official presentations.
  4. For virtual meetings:  Participation at the meeting may include presenting a poster, oral presentation, or other virtual activities. Priority will be given to students giving official presentations, however virtual meetings are a unique circumstance and the Nashville Section may support attendance/registration fees if funding allows.
  5. Completion of the online application.

Funding Cycles

ACS Fall 2021 Meeting - Due to a short application window, there is no due date. Please apply ahead of the meeting if possible, but if budget allows, reimbursements may be possible after the meeting.

SERMACS 2021 - Priority funding for applicants submitted by October 13th,  2021

ACS Spring 2022 Meeting - Priority funding for applicants submitted by February 24th, 2022

Non-ACS Fall 2021 Meetings - examples (Pacifichem 2021, NoBCChE 2021 Virtual Meeting, ECS Fall 2021) - Due to the short application window, there is no due date. Please apply ahead of the meeting if possible, but if budget allows, reimbursements may be possible after the meeting.

Non-ACS Spring/Summer 2022 Meetings - examples (Pittconn 2022,  ECS Spring 2022, 2022 Biennial Conference for Chemical Education) - Priority funding for applicants submitted by January 10th, 2022
