Techniques for Pharmaceutical Analysis

Drug analysis refers to the use of physical, chemical or biological methods to test and analyze different dosage forms of drugs to determine whether they meet the quality standards. Drug analytical plays an important role in the drug development process and GMP manufacturing, because it can determine whether the drug is safe and meets the regulatory requirements, and ensuring the final drug quality.

Techniques for Pharmaceutical Analysis

  • High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC)
  • Gas chromatography (GC)
  • Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
  • Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry
  • LC-MS and LC-MS/MS
  • Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS)
  • UV/Vis spectroscopy
  • Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy
  • Capillary electrophoresis (CE)
  • Karl Fischer titration
  • Inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES, ICP-MS)
  • Nuclear magnetic resonance
  • Differential scanning calorimetry
  • Thermogravimetric analysis
