Attend the STEM Volunteer Annual Meeting-April 23 in Washington, DC

The AAAS STEM Volunteer program is celebrating its 15th year of placing STEM professionals in DC Metro area K-12 classrooms! This school year, over 200 scientists, engineers, and mathematicians are assisting teachers and students in ten school districts. We invite you to learn about our program and consider becoming a volunteer.

Jeff Lonnett, Instructional Specialist, Fairfax County Schools (FCPS), will describe how our volunteers are supporting student and teachers engaged in project-based learning.

Joshua Goldstein, Professor Emeritus of International Relations at American University and author of A Bright Future: How Some Countries Have Solved Climate Change and the Rest Can Follow, will discuss how nuclear power can be a proven, scalable source of carbon-free energy.

Become a STEM Volunteer

Volunteers give demonstrations, assist with lab experiments, present on special topics, help with homework. Hours are flexible. Volunteers attend a one-day orientation in September.
