The South Plains local section was chartered in 1964 and includes the territory comprised of Roosevelt County in the State of New Mexico and Bailey, Borden, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Dickens, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Kent, Lamb, Lubbock, Motley, Terry, and Yoakum counties in the State of Texas.

See Seminars page for more information. Prof. Emeritus Diana Mason of the University of North Texas will presented two lectures at Texas Tech University on Wed, Oct 31st, 2018. There will be a General Public lecture (free) at 7:00 PM in CHEM building room 049 with refreshments served at a reception following the event. The public lecture is titled Texas Discoveries that Changed the World. At Noon, she will present a seminar to the faculty and students at Texas Tech in CHEM 113 Knowledge decay, diagnostic identifiers and persistence in general chemistry.
