House of Representatives Changes Leadership on Environment/Climate Change Issues

Today's National Journal reports (sub req.) that Representative Edward Markey (D-MA) is taking over control of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Air Quality.  He is replacing Representative Rick Boucher (D-VA).  Reports indicate that Rep. Boucher's "coal industry constituency" created hurdles for Speaker Pelosi's progressive energy and environment agenda.  this move comes at the heels of Representative Henry Waxman (D-CA) replacing Representative John Dingell (D-MI) as chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee.  Dingell, historically, has had close ties with the automoble industry.

What do you think of these moves?  Are they good for science and the environment?
