ACS is partnering with NASA to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011), by conducting the Global Chemistry Experiment. They will launch a live webcast on NASA’s Digital Learning Network to classrooms across the country. Valerie Moore, a Chemistry Ambassador from the Greater Houston local section, will participate with NASA scientists, located at Johnson Space Center, to explain and answer questions about the IYC global water experiment, and water purification on NASA’s International Space Station. Get your community involved. Email teachers, youth group leaders, and librarians about the webcast. It is Thursday, September 22 from noon – 1 pm Central Time. Tell them they can log-in to http://dln.nasa.gov on the day of the webcast.

Be part of the International Year of Chemistry global water experiments—in your own classroom or as a volunteer with grade school teachers and scouts.
