This summer the West Michigan ACS local section had a fun and educational time on the D.J. Angus research vessel! The crew took us on a tour that allowed us to compare the water chemistry of Lake Michigan to Spring Lake. We examined the vital signs of the lakes both at the top and bottom of the lakes using measures such as pH, turbidity and dissolved oxygen.
Attached are some photos from our time on the research vessel including our raw data and a certificate of water quality studies.
If your interested in longitudinal studies of water quality in the area check out the following website which has data from the vessel going back to 1986!

Our data from July 12th, 2025 is included their too!
