What's meant by dilution factor (df) in pectinase calculation formula?

Question asked by Brahim Cherif on Jan 14, 2019

Hello

I was calculating the pectinase (EC 3.2.1.15) and the pectin methylesterase (EC 3.1.1.11) activities of my experiments but I couldn't understand the meaning of df. Is it the df of thiosulfate and NaOH, or the df of these titrants in the final reaction mix? The assays were published in 1997 and Kertesz (1955) was cited as a reference.

Please let me know if you need more details.

Thank you
