Copper Carbonate Precipitate

Question asked by Dean Duque on May 6, 2019

Does basic copper carbonate allow for any copper 2+ ions to exist in solution?

I am reviewing the reaction that takes place between copper sulfate and Sodium Carbonate when they are added to solution, but currently I am unable to determine if the solubility of basic copper carbonate reflects its ability to be ionized or if it is only soluble as a solid with no disassociation of the ions.

Note: For this specific example, there is excess sodium carbonate.
