We have a dumb waiter in our home to lift heavy items from our garage to our upstairs kitchen. This is done by a worm drive Genie garage door opener. I put a bag of trash in the dumb waiter and it was sucked into the metal worm (screw) drive and jammed it so it won't budge. Is there a chemical I can spray or drip onto the metal worm screw that will dissolve the plastic and not harm the metal worm screw drive? Sorry for such a ridiculous question but I have no where else to turn.
