Better solar cells? Better use solar cells? Better use of solar cells?

Question asked by Darcy Gentleman on Jan 9, 2009

So Google, as in all things, got the solar cell power interest refocused when it announced its intention to power much of its operations using solar cells . Lots of researchers are looking into ways of using new materials to find alternatives to silicon, including conductive polymer (plastics) and quantum dots. You can even make a solar cell yourself out of some white paint and raspberry juice.

Some have questioned whether solar cells are better or worse in their current utility.

But what should we do now . . . invest in new technologies or start widepsread construction of silicon-based solar cells?
