Our chemical heritage is at risk! Go here and write a letter to save the Priestley House. Below is the announcement that was sent to Legislative Action Network members yesterday.
Request: A piece of United States chemical history is at risk: the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) has recommended to discontinue operation of the famous Joseph Priestley House in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. Your action today can help preserve this important part of our professional heritage.
Joseph Priestley is a giant in the field of chemistry and his home has been called the Mecca for all who would look back to the beginnings of chemical research in America. Since 1994 it has been an ACS designated National Historic Chemical Landmark.
Please take action TODAY and send an e-mail message to Barbara Franco, executive director of the PHMC to oppose the closure and prevent this chemical landmark from falling into decay!
Thank you for your support.
