Does Public Have High Regard for Science and Scientists

Question asked by Nancy Mccormick-Pickett on Jul 14, 2009

Check out this story about a survey conducted by Pew Research Center for the People & the Press in collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), that found that the public has high regard for science and scientists.

It also found that scientists feel they need to reach out more to the public. ACS has a new program to help chemists do just that. The Chemistry Ambassadors program was created because ACS heard from members that they wanted simple and easy to use tools and information to make reaching out to non-chemists more effective. Chemistry Ambassadors help educate people about the importance of chemists and chemistry, while taking part in community activities that are engaging and fulfilling.
