ACS Urging Letters to President Obama on NIH

Discussion created by Brad Smith on Nov 30, 2009

Today, over 18,000 act4chemistry Network members were asked to write President Obama about NIH's budget.  Below is a copy of the email they received.

Dear ACS Member

Please join advocates nationwide to express your gratitude for the recent revitalization of health-related research. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has invigorated the research community after years of diminishing budgets for the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  I encourage you to contact President Obama at to thank him for his recommitment to science and urge him to continue to make research at NIH a priority in fiscal year 2011.

President Obama will decide what funding to recommend for NIH before the end of the year. Patients, scientists, and other research advocates across the U.S. must demonstrate our collective support for his innovation strategy by sending a strong call to robustly invest in NIH.  Take a moment to write President Obama today!
