What is the selection process?

Discussion created by Steven Meyers on Jul 26, 2012

Only one team nomination per Local Section is being accepted at the national level for review. The Local Sections may hold whatever type of process that best suits their needs to shortlist a single application to be forwarded by the August 31, 2012 deadline. Some examples of selection processes include but are not limited to: an internal peer review process, a random drawing, or first-come-first-serve selection. Students interested in the award will be directed to contact their Local Section directly. Look-up your local section here: Once the applications are received at the national level, a review committee comprising senior ACS governance members will use the applications and other geographic and institutional considerations to make the determination of approximately 10 winning teams.
