I have been contacted by several high school teachers in the area to help start chemistry clubs in their schools. This would be an excellent bridge from the high school to the university. But it also lead to a question: how many high school ACS clubs are there?
And other numbers hard to find: How many ACS student chapters are there, and what is the breakdown between 4 year and 2 year schools?
If there are 668 ACS accredited chemistry programs out there, does each accredited university also have an ACS student chapter?
I thought I once read that there were over 1200 student chapters, but there was no breakdown into how many at each type of school there are.
Where can I find this information?
That's a good question. I was wondering the same thing. I recently had to write a press release and just used the numbers from the most recent Advisor Handbook which was 1,000 student chapters and 10,000 student members.
