reagents and chlorine

Question asked by Loraine Harris on Jan 20, 2014

I was interested in how color changing experiments. For example in a chemistry class I took long ago, we did experiments in detecting different chemicals by color change. I was wondering if it's possible to make "fake reagents" that are not real chemicals that will change color and react with real chemicals like chlorine. I know this may sound silly but i would like to be able to detect the type of chlorine that is in swimming pools.
