Hi ACS Community,
Magnesium carbonate is pretty much the only substance I've seen used in sports (specifically rock climbing) to enhance grip by absorbing moisture. Are there any other chemical compounds / desiccants out there that might work as good or maybe even better for this purpose (and that would be safe to come in contact with)?

corn starch maybe? actually that would reduce all friction and you'd slip and fall to your death rock climbing.
uhhhhhh, talc? rosin?
