Perkin Elmer 8300 Optima

I have been working with this instrument for about 4-5 months and there have been a few errors. There's been a lot of drifting in run, tubing seems to be effecting internal standard mixing with the sample resulting in over correcting for sample concentrations, etc. Our main focus on this machine is detecting Pt, Pd, Au, and Rh, in 30% A/R, in samples. Our range of detecting is 2%, so very limited, even for low concentration samples. Does anyone have a recommended setup on this machine for the best results? Please ask any further questions if needed to understand the issue I am trying to address. Really, the big picture idea is finding setting to make this machine to run at its peak potential.
