      Reliability Engineering \ Chemistry Early Career Jobs in Roseville at HP

       

      The job family spans across multiple engineering disciplines including reliability engineering, material science, and chemistry. Work consists of analyzing, optimizing and recommending robust design and material solutions for HP's product portfolio. Requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, methodologies and tools.

       

      Responsibilities

      • Responsible for material chemistry evaluations, as related to product design, reliability, and manufacturability, and the integration of these material solutions with the larger system.
      • Utilize multiple mechanical and material analysis methods to assess appropriate properties for application.
      • Develops and recommends alternative paths forward for materials selection to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.
      • Work directly with multiple organizations, including product engineering, product reliability and quality, and supply chain, to define material/product specifications.
      • Provide failure analysis support, through applied analytical (chemical and mechanical) methods, to resolve product issues associated with material compatibility, contamination, and regulatory compliance.
      • Familiar with chemistries, concepts, and manufacturing processes of materials and components within commercial/enterprise hardware products.
      • Develops and implements reliability parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of reliability engineering specifications and requirements.
      • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
      • Participates as a member of project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for HP products.

       

      Qualifications

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent physical science
      • A minimum of 1 year of experience in reliability engineering, material science, and analytical chemistry.
      Knowledge and Skills:
      • Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
      • Understanding of chemistry, material properties, hardware, and electrical component design.
      • Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate robust components, materials, designs and specifications.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
      • Ability to effectively communicate reliability engineering specifications, results and proposals.
      • Knowledge of/experience in using materials/chemistry/surface-analysis tools: SEM/EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), 2D/3D X-ray imaging, XRF (X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy) and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy).
