I know this is a very general idea, but i still havent quite understood it.
You might want to edit your question. I assume you meant H2 + SO4(2-) --> H2SO4 + 2 e-; or, leaving out the spectator ion, H2 --> 2 H+ + 2 e-. This is of course the standard hydrogen electrode. You might want to look at descriptions of that apparatus (I know the general idea but not the details).
Also, your title is not very descriptive :-) --although it did capture my attention so maybe it was effective after all!
