Is anyone in this group willing to serve as a Mentor for a Chemistry Undergraduate?

We are in search of Mentors for the VA ACS mentor matching program. I have a flyer attached. Any amount of your time would be helpful. I find academics do a really go job of training other academics but not such a great job of presenting other opportunities. Therefore, we are looking for anything outside of academics.

I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but I have been very interested in getting involved with some kind of mentoring program to promote chemistry education, especially because my sister is currently a middle school science teacher in Guam! I would love to find resources and classroom activities for her underprivaledged students and be able to share pictures, stories, and updates with the ACS community. We even discussed doing live video chats where her students have the chance to ask me questions about what I do and what it's like to work in a lab, etc. Please let me know if that is an opportunity of interest to you or to any of the ACS volunteering contacts! I would love to hear any feedback or information if you know I can use that idea.

          Thanks,
