Discussion created by Monica Becker on Oct 31, 2016

The Global Biobased Business competition (G-BiB) is a competition for Master and PhD students from universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil. The objective of G-BiB is to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation producing a biorenewable chemical, material and/or fuel product. G-BiB is an initiative of the BioInnovation Growth mega-Cluster (BIG-C).

The challenge is to write an innovative business plan based on a design for sustainable production of biorenewable products such as biofuels and biomaterials or partial solutions that will support developing those products.

The competition is open for teams with a minimum of 2 Master/PhD students from universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil. Teams will have to include a mentor from their university.

All the participating teams will meet each other at the kick-off meeting at which the teams will be informed and supported to get the best out of the competition. Halfway the competition BIG-C will organise a master class focussing on the business part of the plan.

BIG-C will organise semi-finals per country and the overall finals for the national winners will be at the BBEST 2017 conference in Brazil. The final award will be € 10.000,- provided for by industry to further enrol the business plan.

Registration for G-BiB is open!
