On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the “ICOBTE 2017 - International Conference On the Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements” (Zurich, Switzerland, July 16-20, 2017), we would be very pleased to receive your contribution(s) to the Special Symposium "Trace elements analysis of environmental samples with X-rays".

This is the last reminder for abstract submission whose deadline is 16 January 2017.


IUPAC Division VI will award three Division Prizes to young scientists that submit posters as detailed in the attached file.


Session description:

“Trace elements analysis of environmental samples with X-rays”

This symposium aims at informing the audience about the most recent developments in trace elements analysis in environmental samples with X-rays, at synchrotron beamlines and by laboratory instrumentation. In particular, the latest developments in X-ray technology (sources, optics, detectors), sample preparation, as well as new X-ray based analytical methods for trace elements will be presented. 

New developments in the fields of X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and X-ray absorption will be discussed, both 2D and 3D applications, with a special emphasis on spatially resolved microscopic and submicroscopic analyses of minor and trace elements in environmental matrices.

The Symposium will be organized in oral and poster sessions, with invited keynote lectures.

The Symposium is co-sponsored by IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) - Division VI "Chemistry and the Environment" and by Bruker Nano Gmbh.
