The Chemical Sciences and Society Symposia (CS3) discussion forum has been created to share information related to annual CS3 symposia. The CS3 symposium series is designed to convene eminent researchers from the US, Germany, Japan, China and the UK to explore frontier chemistry research, develop mutually beneficial collaborations for the future, and identify opportunities for multilateral alignment of research priorities and the creation of new, systematic opportunities for international research collaborations to address global challenges.
"A Sustainable Global Society: How Can Materials Chemistry Help?" This is the white paper that emerged from the 2010 CS3, held in London. Participants in this CS3 included: China Dongyuan Zhao Fudan University, Shanghai Xiaogang Peng Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Lei Jiang Institute of Chemistry, CAS, Beijing Lizhong Zhu Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Buxing Han Institute of Chemistry, CAS, Beijing Lin Zhuang Wuhan University, Wuhan Germany Markus Antonietti Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces Walter Leitner RWTH Aachen University Bernhard Rieger University of Technology, Munich Michael Fröba University of Hamburg Andrea Kruse Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Regina Palkovits Max Planck Institute for Coal Research Japan Kazuhito Hashimoto University of Tokyo Hideo Hosono Tokyo Institute of Technology Eiichi Nakamura University of Tokyo Takuzo Aida University of Tokyo Morinobu Endo Shinshu University Tadahisa Iwata University of Tokyo United Kingdom Steve Howdle University of Nottingham Karen Wilson Cardiff University Andrew Cooper University of Liverpool Neil Champness University of Nottingham Ton Peijs Queen Mary University of London Matt Davidson University of Bath United States Tobin Marks Northwestern University, Illinois Mike Heinekey University of Washington, Seattle Vicki Grassian University of Iowa Emily Carter Princeton University Luke Achenie Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Marc Hillmyer University of Minnesota
