Of course I realize that you are legally obligated to write "currently legally entitled to work in Canada" at the end of your advert, but it is nevertheless rather ironic that you post this on an ACS forum

Re: Technology Leader at GreenCentre Canada in Kingston, ON

Hi Fenton,

Thank you for your response.

Since the inception of GreenCentre we have advertised many of our employment opportunities in the US and on website of American based organizations.  And we have hired excellent people who were working and living in the US at the time but also legally entitled to work in Canada.

The ACS high level mission is "To advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people".  GreenCentre is grateful to collaborate with many US and international organizations such as the ACS and GC3 to collectively advance all of our missions and we are grateful to the ACS and GC3 for helping us recruit top talent to advance our mission.

Re: Technology Leader at GreenCentre Canada in Kingston, ON

Hi Cher,

Glad to hear that. For quite a while, now I've been interested in relocating to Canada. I suppose that is a consequence of the great relationships which have developed over my time as an undergrad at McGill as well as a research associate with the U of Alberta.

My experience (very international) is in the overall materials organic area. Am currently writing a proposal which uses a combination of supramolecular chemistry and polymer materials to improve bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaics. Am very excited about the ideas behind the proposal, it just needs a home. Preliminary documents which describe the approach are available.

Of course I realize that the current advert is directed towards a different area, but would be glad to know of any other program openings which would be applicable.

Best,

Fenton
