The Himalayas are an expansive mountain range that crosses five countries: Bhutan, India, Nepal, China, and Pakistan and is home to some of the planet's highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Furthermore, it sustains a population of over 1 billion people, controlling the weather and climate, producing food and water, and harboring vast biodiversity.

Join Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Director of the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru as he discusses how anthropogenic activities and climate change are affecting this invaluable natural habitat and addresses the need for joint scientific studies and collaborative efforts for sustaining the Himalayas.

This ACS Webinar is co-produced with ACS International catering to an audience based in India.
