Research performed under Dr. Daniel J Canney. Designed, synthesized, and characterized novel organosilicone based and chromone based Retinoic Acid Receptor (RAR) ligands.
In an ongoing research, some of these novel compounds are being tested in a Nuclear Hormone Receptors (NHRs) screening panel in a dose/response mode by a pharmaceutical company for further characterization. Elucidation of molecular and metabolic pathways fundamental to RARs functions. Development of barbiturates for structure relationship studies of Nicotinic Ach receptor ligands and non-thesis, interdisciplinary NSAIDS projects.
