The objective of the Ames Local Section of the American Chemical Society is to contribute to the encouragement and advancement of chemistry in all its branches, to the increase and diffusion of chemical knowledge, to the promotion of scientific interests and inquiry, and to the stimulation of the professional interest and promotion of the well-being of our members.
About Us!
The Ames local section was chartered in 1915 and serves Boone, Hardin, Hamilton, Jasper, Marshall, Polk, and Story counties in central Iowa. We are based at the Iowa State University chemistry department in Ames.
