I try to synthesis ethyl (2-benzyl-6-iodo-4-oxoquinazolin-3(4H)-yl)acetate by three ways:

1-  2-benzyl-6-iodoquinazolin-4(3H)-one was stirred and heated with ethyl chloro acetate and potassium carbonate anhydrous in dry acetone at 60 C for 24 hours

2-  2-benzyl-6-iodoquinazolin-4(3H)-one was stirred and heated with ethyl chloro acetate in dry pyridine for 3 hours.

3- 2 -benzyl-6-iodoquinazolin-4(3H)-one was stirred and heated with chloro acetic acid in 10% NaOH and ethanol for 3 hours.

Unfortunately, I can't obtain 2 -benzyl-6-iodoquinazolin-4(3H)-one

I need some clarification of your starting material and your target product.  Your nomenclature is not clear.  For instance, in your first sentence you refer to a -3(4H)- heterocycle then in your last sentence you refer to  a -4(3H)- heterocycle.  You also have a different target product in your last sentence than in your first sentence.  CAS registry numbers for your starting material and target product would help...
