I would like to know if I can calibrate a redox reaction similar to "The Blue Bottle Experiment", meaning that the methylene blue or other dyes used will only turn blue in high concetrations of oxygen. Could i do this by possibly increasing the concentration or potency of my reducing agent?
Dear Byron,
I'm not sure about the sensitivity required, but the mechanisms may be better understood from the following papers. You might search for more data on the mechanisms and kinetics of the color reaction to see if there is a factor that can be adjusted for concentration levels.
