For a science project, I'd like to separate the sugars from pop and energy drinks and compare my data to the nutrition facts label and between various different brands. I'm aware that I can remove most of the non-sugar ingredients by simply boiling the water off. However, that still leaves me with a syrup instead of a sugar directly. Are there any methods that I can use to purify that syrup to get an even better idea of the sugar content in the various caffeinated drinks?
Thanks!
