I'm interested in sourcing chemicals from primary manufacturers/sources and not distributors. Most search engines will output both manufacturers and distributors, or they output vendors that sponsor the search engine. I have used SciFinder, and although this yields many commercial sources, they are primarily distributors, and it does not differentiate. Also, SciFinder shows only sources that contact them to be added to CHEMCATS database, which gives a small subset of possibilities. I have used ChemSources, and although it gives a broader search result, it does not differentiate either. In addition, the results are not very current. I have used the numerous web based search engines, and often they give results based upon the website sponsors, omitting other sources.
Does anyone have any suggestions about finding primary chemical sources for specific chemicals, and weeding out distributors?
