Toluene Water Content

Hello,

To test toluene for water content by Karl Fischer Coulometric, per the ACS monograph, you must use 100uL (87mg) of sample.  Toluene is not hygroscopic and the specification for water is less than or equal to 0.03%.   When performing Karl fisher coulometric, more sample volume is needed for samples that contain little amounts of water.  When performing the monograph, the Karl Fischer Coulometer only titrated about 10ug of water which is below the recommended amount stated by the vendor.  Why is the volume used to test toluene for water content so low?  Is there any way per ACS where i could justifiy adding more sample to get more water into the sample vessel and get a more accurate titration?
