What is the relationship between the C-C bond enthalpy in an alkene and the length of the carbon chain?
My question emerged because I would like to investigate bond enthalpies a bit further than my study curriculum goes (simply stating that the very same bonds do not have the same enthalpy values in different compounds).
However, I didn’t manage to find any decent materials on the topic online. So I wonder what factors have an impact on them? For example, how is the carbon-carbon bond enthalpy in an alkene affected by the length of the carbon chain (and is it)?
