I can still remember feeling exhausted and exhilarated at attending my first ACS meetings. Exhausted, because I went to every possible talk, poster session, and vendor booth. Not to mention staying out late visiting with old and new friends at the nearby tavern. Exhilarated by meeting some many bright and exciting scientists, who open up new possibilities for my project. These days, I don't feel exhausted, because as a seasoned veteran i am accustomed to the pasce of the National Meeting (and of course I don't stay out so late drinking beer). I still get excited at seeing old and new friends and coming back with new ideas.
