On occasion, a user will be able to log in on www.acs.org or on the ACS Network (https://communities.acs.org), but the ACS Network will not recognize their account. In this case, they will see this on www.acs.org:

Sometimes you need to click on Log in to tell the system to go check for an active session. If you do this and still are not logged in, not to worry. This problem occurs when the ACS Network thinks you opted out. We sometimes see this when our databases get out of sync (this is common when multiple databases are communicating between platforms). To opt in or resync your Network Account, do the following:
Resetting your opt-in status
If when you click on the user pulldown on www.acs.org, you see "Access the Network" but the ACS Network doesn't recognize you, there is a database mismatch.
The easiest way to reset the opt-in status between the two systems is to force it to resend the data.
